Discover the breathtaking French region of Provence that inspired Vincent Van Gogh on this day trip to Arles, Saint-Rémy and Les Baux.
Arles, Saint-Rémy & Les Baux Day Trip
At the appointed time, we'll come to pick you up at the tourist office in Aix-en-Provence and set off on an hour's journey to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just an hour's drive away.
When we arrive, we'll visit Les Antiques, famous Roman monuments that marked the entrance to the ancient city of Glanum.
Here, you get to explore Saint-Rémy at your leisure and discover its charming streets. We recommend visiting the recreation of Van Gogh's bedroom in Saint-Paul de Mausole (admission not included). Did you know that Vincent van Gogh was admitted to the old sanatorium in this town? If you do the tour on a Wednesday, you'll also get to visit the beautiful local market.
Our next stop will be Les Baux-de-Provence! You can visit its magnificent fortress, located at the top of the Alpilles, and admire the vast fields that surround this charming village. In Les Baux, those who wish can enjoy the sound and light shows of the Carrières des Lumières (entrance fee not included).
Then we'll head to our last stop: Arles, where Van Gogh also lived. The landscapes will probably remind you of his works! You can visit the Roman amphitheatre and, if you come on a Saturday, you'll also get to visit the Provencal market.
We'll end this 8.5-hour day trip by returning to the meeting point.
