On our Maicá Lake Tour, you'll set off from Alter do Chão and admire the natural beauty of a breathtaking spot in Brazil's Pará region.
Maicá Lake Tour
If you'd like to see a natural fish hatchery up close, we'll meet you at 9 am at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão. Just a few feet away, we'll board the boat that'll take us to Maicá Lake.
As we travel through the Tapajós River, we'll pass by Piranhas Lake, Ponta do Cururu, Moça Beach, Crocodile Lake and Ponta de Pedras, where you can take a refreshing dip. Afterwards, we'll head to Lake Tapari and Lake Negro and make strategic stops so you can snap some incredible photos of the Amazon.
At around 1 pm, we'll stop at the Casa do Saulo restaurant for a traditional lunch. Having eaten some lunch, we'll head to the point where the Tapajós and Amazon Rivers meet to see where the pink Amazon River dolphin lives.
After travelling a couple more miles, we'll come to the fascinating Maicá Lake. When we arrive, we'll move slowly through the water so you can spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas, a variety of tropical fish, alligators and lush greenery that contrasts with the colour of the water.
We'll then head back to Alter do Chão while admiring a spectacular sunset. You'll be dropped off back at the meeting point for 7 pm.
What is the boat like?
You will be on board a boat with four different areas. You will also have equipment for kayaking and paddle surfing, barbecue and music on board.
