Trip Details
Day 1
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa and begin our journey to the majestic Colca Canyon. Are you ready to admire one of the world's deepest gorges?
Halfway, we'll make a stop to have breakfast before continuing our minibus travels to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, where we'll arrive 6 hours after pickup. Here we'll admire the spectacular Colca Canyon and, with a bit of luck, spot some condors flying. You'll be blown away by the views!
We'll then return to the minibus to make our way towards Chivay, stopping by charming villages and impressive observation points. From the Antahuilque and Choquetico viewpoints, we'll admire Pre-Incan tombs and models, as well as the spectacular landscape of the Colca Canyon. In the village of Maca, we will make a special stop to interact with the locals and learn about their traditions.
Our final stop before reaching Chivay will be the hot springs of Chacapi. Here, you'll have 30 minutes to relax in its wells of warm water. Around noon, we'll reach Chivay and settle into accommodation located near the main square of the village.
You'll have free time over the afternoon and night to explore the area, visit other hot springs, participate in adventure activities like quad driving, horseriding, or ziplining, and also enjoy the local cuisine and rest.
Day 2
After having breakfast at the accommodation, we'll begin the second day by making our way to the upper part of Colca Canyon. On the way, we'll pass the villages of Tuti and Sibayo and we'll make a stop to admire Callalli's castles, a group of rock formations that look like medieval forts. They look like they're straight out of a fairytale!
We'll continue our journey along the Condroma Dam, 4737 metres (15541 feet) above sea level. Our next stop will be the Yauri Stone Forest. We'll then make our way to Langui Lake, a majestic body of water 25 km (15 miles) wide.
In this final section of the trip, we'll also stop for 50 minutes in the city of Sicuani where you can grab a bite to eat. Having re-energised, we'll continue our travels for 3 hours towards Cusco, passing the villages Andahuaylillas and Urcos.
Lastly, we'll reach Cusco and say our goodbyes in the historical centre.
