We'll meet at the Via Borgo Aretino to board a tuk-tuk and leave Assisi behind. Ready to set off to the picturesque town of Spello?
Our first stop will be the spectacular Villa dei Mosaici (Villa of Mosaics), an old Roman house that is one of the most important archaeological findings in Umbría. Let's discover why!
Covering almost 500 square meters (5,384 sq ft), its interior houses 100 rooms decorated with impressive mosaic floors. Once we arrive, we'll give you your ticket and you'll have free time for a self-guided tour. You'll be amazed by the geometrical patterns, fantasy animals, human figures, and scenes that come to life under your feet.
After visiting the villa, we'll continue our tuk-tuk journey by exploring the most emblematic corners of Spello. We'll pass the majestic Villa Fidelia and the remains of the Roman amphitheater. Of course, we'll also see the ancient gates to enter the town, the Porta Urbica and Porta Consolare.
We'll also pass by the Piazza della Repubblica, the Museo delle Infiorate, and the charming Via Giulia, the heart of the old town. Before returning, we'll reach the Oratorio de San Biagio and the scenic viewpoint of the Porta Cappuccini. Did you know it's called like this due to its closeness to the Capuchin Convent?
3 hours later, we'll return to Assisi to conclude the day trip.
