Perched atop jagged cliffs, the monasteries of Meteora are famous for the way they blend seamlessly into the natural landscape. Now, you can experience them for yourself on this day trip from Athens.

Tour Details

We'll meet at Athens Central Station at the scheduled time to begin our journey to Meteora, with our first stop being Kalambaka Station.

After a roughly four-hour trip, we will arrive in Kalambaka and head toward the Meteora monasteries. Before starting the tour, we will take a short break so you can grab some lunch. Afterward, we will have about four hours to explore the Meteora complex, where we will visit three of the monasteries.

The site consists of six priories in total: St. Nicholas, St. Stephen, Holy Trinity, Great Meteoron, Roussanou, and Varlaam. The monasteries to visit are selected based on their availability and opening hours.

Before returning to Kalambaka, we will stop at the Hermit Caves, nestled between two massive rock formations called Pyxari and Amparia, the perfect finishing touch!
Finally, we will head back to the starting point, concluding the 14-hour excursion.

Tour with or without lunch: If you choose the lunch option, you can pick a traditional Greek main course from 10 different choices, served with a salad, bread, and mineral water. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available. If you opt for the tour without lunch, you will have free time to find a meal on your own.
Tour with a guide or audio guide: If you choose the audio guide, you will explore the monuments at your own pace. If you choose the guided option, a guide will accompany you throughout the entire excursion.
