Bento Gonçalves Guided Tour
At 9 am we'll meet at Rua Duque de Caxias to start the guided tour of Bento Gonçalves. Did you know that a large part of its history is linked to Italian immigration? Let's get to know its tourist attractions!
First of all, we'll see the Pipa Pórtico, the gateway to the city. Do you want to know why it's shaped like a barrel? A hint: Bento Gonçalves is called the wine capital of Brazil.
Next, we'll visit the Immigrant Museum, where we'll learn about the history of Italian immigrants through objects that portray the lives of these people who arrived in the country in the 19th century. We'll also see a life-size bronze monument in their honour.
The next stop will be at the Malhas G'Dom textile factory, very important for the local trade. You'll have time to do some shopping in their shop, and then we'll head to Via do Vinho, a central street where we'll see the oldest buildings of Bento Gonçalves. We'll also see its famous Wine Fountain.
We'll finish the Bento Gonçalves guided tour at 1 pm at the starting point.
