Tour Details
Fancy taking a trip back in time to the golden age of performing arts and Buenos Aires' grand architecture? In that case, we'll meet at the designated time at the entrance to Teatro Colón, one of the most important cultural sites in South America.
As we cross the threshold, we'll be greeted by the majestic foyer, a dazzling space with Veronese red marble columns. We'll admire the tall ceilings and bronze lamps which will transport us to the past. Here, we'll reveal how this theatre became one of the most important stages for opera and ballet, on the same level as La Scala in Milan and the Paris Opera.
We'll continue our guided tour by making our way to the Galería de Bustos (Gallery of Busts), where we'll see the faces of illustrious figures in the artistic scene, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Bellini, and Verdi, amongst others. Then, our route will take us to the Salón Dorado (the Golden Hall), a true showcase of the splendour of the Beaux-Arts style. Its walls are decorated with gold leaf and the impressive mirrors and chandeliers will immerse us in a totally elegant atmosphere.
As we discuss the chamber concerts that have echoed within its walls, we'll reach the Sala Principal (Main Hall), the true heart of the Teatro Colón. You'll be blown away by the dome painted by 2 French artists. Who would they be? Find out on this tour! You won't be able to take your eyes off the red velvet seats and gilded box decorations that really epitomise this venue's elegance and opulence.
Lastly, after taking in the marvellous details of every corner of the Teatro Colón, we'll say our goodbyes at the meeting point after a total of 1 hour.
