On this tour from Catania, we'll hike around Etna and its volcanic caves to explore one of the most famous volcanoes in the world. We'll go deep into its depths and learn about volcanology.
Hike Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Piazza Paolo Borsellino and board a bus to leave Catania behind and drive through increasingly wild landscapes. Mount Etna awaits us!
After about an hour's drive, we'll have reached the slope of the volcano, from where we'll start our hike. Here, we'll provide you with the necessary equipment and start our 2.5 hour trekking route, which will show us the incredible landscapes that Europe's highest active volcano has to offer. We'll skirt around secondary craters, walk through expanses of black lava and enter real volcanic sand deserts.
During the Etna trekking route, we'll cross forests, see secondary craters, walk through black sand deserts and see high ravines next to ancient lava flows.
We'll spend half an hour exploring one of the many volcanic tubes of Etna. As we go underground, we'll discover truly amazing facts about volcanology.
Finally, we'll leave the cave and return to the bus to go back to Catania. We'll finish the activity after a total of 5.5 hours back at the starting point.

Starting at 4:30 pm, this unforgettable adventure will take you on a journey to witness the breathtaking sunset over the magnificent Etna volcano.
