Berat Day Trip
Day Trip to Berat from Durrës
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Durrës and set off on this excursion to Berat. Ready to dive into Albanian history?
After 1.5 hours on the road, we'll arrive in Berat, also known as the city of a thousand windows. You'll understand the nickname the moment you arrive. We'll cross the Gorica Bridge, which connects two of the historic center's oldest neighborhoods, Mangalem and Gorica, over the Osum River.
Walking through the alleyways of Mangalem, we'll make our way up to Berat Castle for a guided tour. Illyrians, Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans have all left their mark on this fortification throughout the centuries, and we'll uncover their stories together.
After the castle, you'll have 1 hour of free time to eat and try some of the delicious Albanian cuisine. We'll then visit another of Berat's must-sees: the Bachelor's Mosque, a Cultural Monument of the city since 1961.
Finally, we'll head back to the starting point, arriving after a total of 8.5 hours.
