On this hike along the Gravatá Trail, we'll venture down one of the most beautiful and natural trails in Florianópolis. We'll also pass by a hidden beach and enjoy unique fauna and flora.
Hike Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Via Manoel de Meneces to begin this day trip. Are you ready to immerse yourself in Florianópolis' beautiful wilderness?
The hiking trail is 3.5 kilometres (2.17 miles) long, with a medium-level difficulty, great for experts as much as those who are looking to enjoy a peaceful hike surrounded by nature. As we venture further along, you’ll notice how the fresh air and the sounds of the local wildlife surround us, setting the stage for a unique experience.
We'll pass by Gravatá Beach, a small hidden spot nestled between cliffs that separate Joaquina and Mole beaches. This piece of paradise is even unknown to many Florianópolis residents, making it the perfect destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Although today it's a peaceful and secluded spot, Gravatá witnessed the arrival of sailors and fishermen who, centuries ago, found a natural refuge in these waters. Currently, this spot is practically untouched, like a hidden treasure surrounded by the lush vegetation of the Atlantic Forest.
Along the trail, you'll have the chance to enjoy the region's biodiversity, featuring a great variety of fauna and flora species, such as tropical birds, butterflies, and trees. If you're a photography lover, this is the ideal spot to get some snapshots of nature at its finest.
A little further ahead, we'll reach a natural pool with crystal-clear waters. Here, we'll have a stop to enjoy a refreshing dip. The vegetation is so dense that it will feel as if we're completely isolated from the rest of the world, in a spot where time seems to stand still.
Lastly, we'll reach a viewpoint which offers spectacular views of Santa Catarina Island. From this point, you'll get to admire the coast in all its splendour, the ocean hugging the mountains, and the blueness of the sea blending with the sky. This will be the perfect moment to enjoy a picnic in the midst of nature. You'll love it!
Once we've enjoyed this unique experience, we'll say our goodbyes at our initial meeting point after a total of 3 to 4 hours.
