Welcome to the capital of China's Zhejiang province! On this guided walking tour of Hangzhou, we'll discover iconic spots like the Lingyin Temple and West Lake.
Tour Details
When booking this guided tour of Hangzhou, you can choose between a half-day or full-day tour. Both itineraries include an English-speaking guide, start at Exit C of the Longxiangqiao Metro Station, and end near West Lake or on Hefang Street.
Below, you can find the details of each itinerary:
Half-Day Tour (3.5 hours)
First, we’ll take a stroll through West Lake Riverside Park, where the landscape changes with the seasons: peach blossoms in spring, willows in summer, osmanthus in fall, and snow in winter, creating a unique and enchanting setting.
Our next stop will be Lingyin Temple, the most important Buddhist site in southeastern China. We’ll explore this sanctuary, founded in 326 AD and nestled among lush hills, where we’ll discover its halls and magnificent limestone sculptures carved directly into the rock.
After this visit, we’ll head to Hefang Street, the city’s busiest commercial thoroughfare for over 1,000 years, which perfectly preserves its traditional appearance and old-world charm.
Full-Day Tour (8.5 hours)
We’ll begin by following the same route as the previous itinerary, first visiting West Lake Riverside Park and Lingyin Temple.
Next, we’ll head to the famous Longjing green tea fields, a vast plantation where we’ll learn about the cultivation and production process of one of China’s most renowned products.
Afterward, we’ll head to Hefang Shopping Street, where you’ll have 1 hour of free time for lunch. Once you’ve recharged, we’ll thoroughly explore this historic street, which dates back to the Southern Song Dynasty.
Finally, we’ll return to West Lake to enjoy a panoramic view of the Jixian Pavilion, one of the most iconic spots for watching the sunset, where we’ll conclude the tour.
Transportation in the West Lake Area
Although the guided visit is conducted on foot, in certain circumstances, it may be necessary to travel through the West Lake area by taxi. The cost is approximately 80CNY for up to 5 people.
