In the mood for a boat tour along the Amazon and Itaya rivers? If you're in Iquitos look no further than this activity, where you'll visit an animal breeder, as well as a snake room.
Explore the Jungle
At the scheduled time, the group will convene at the Iquitos pier, before continuing on to the Amazon River to explore the nature that surrounds this northern Peruvian city. Are you ready?
You'll board a traditional boat and take a trip down the confluence of the Amazon and Itaya rivers. During the tour, you'll discover all about these river channels while observing the most amazing flora and fauna that inhabit this area.
To get to know what is truly behind this ecosystem, you'll take a visit to an animal hatchery, where you'll see lizards, fish like piranhas and paiches, turtles, and the main species of flowers in the Amazon, the Victoria Amazonica. After, you'll make your way towards a viewpoint from which you'll be able to take a spectacular view of all the different rivers.
Next, we’ll take a hike deep into the Amazon rainforest to see the majestic Giant Tree, a true symbol of life and strength in the jungle. We’ll round off the tour with a visit to the Amazon Serpentarium, a natural sanctuary where we can spot anacondas, boas, and even sloths. We’ll learn all about different types of snakes and other reptiles, some of the most feared creatures in the Peruvian jungle.
Finally, you'll return to the point where your tour began by taking another boat trip back down the Amazon and Itaya rivers after a tour of between 6 and 7 hours.
