Tour of Dolmabahçe Palace
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul and head to Dolmabahçe Palace, a masterpiece of the Ottoman Empire built on the shores of the Bosphorus.
Once there, we'll take a guided tour of the palace with an English-speaking guide. We'll talk about the origins of this elegant residence, built under Sultan Abdülmecit between 1843 and 1856.
We'll explore this era, when the palace became the main seat of the throne, taking that role away from Topkapi Palace. As we'll see, the building has 285 rooms, 46 halls, 6 hammams, and 68 bathrooms. But one of its greatest highlights lies in the ceilings and the objects decorating its rooms: tons of gold, French Baccarat crystal, and English and Murano glass were used throughout.
Among its most remarkable pieces is a giant crystal chandelier made of Bohemian crystal, weighing no less than 4.5 tonnes. It will leave you speechless!
After the visit, we'll cross the famous Bosphorus Bridge, taking us out of Europe. In just 2 minutes, we'll find ourselves in Asian territory! Once there, we'll head to Çamlıca Hill, whose viewpoint offers beautiful panoramic views of the Sea of Marmara, the Black Sea, the Bosphorus, and the Golden Horn.
Finally, after taking in the views, we'll head back to your hotel in Istanbul, with arrival expected 3 hours after pickup.
