One of the most beautiful villages in the southern Peruvian Andes awaits us on this private excursion to Lampa. We'll explore its old town, dating back to the 16th century, and learn about its history.
Lampa Private Excursion
At the selected time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Juliaca and head northwest to Lampa.
After about an hour's drive, we'll spend an hour and a half exploring the historic center of Lampa. We'll stroll through its narrow streets admiring the color of its facades and taking hundreds of photos. Did you know that this town is known as the 'Pink City'? It won't take you long to understand the reason behind the nickname.
Next to Grau Square and the Plaza de Armas, we'll come across the church of Santiago Apostle, a colonial-era building built entirely of stone in the 17th century. Inside the church, we'll find paintings of the Cusco School of Fine Arts, a replica of Michelangelo's Pieta, and even an organ that was brought all the way from Belgium in 1620.
Lastly, we'll get back in the vehicle, and, after a three and a half hour tour, we'll finish the excursion by dropping you off at your hotel in Juliaca.
End the excursion in Puno
Would you like to end the tour in Puno? If you prefer, we can finish the tour in Puno instead of taking you all the way back to Juliaca. We'll drop you off at any central location or hotel you want.
