After picking you up from your hotel in Koper at 9 am, we'll drive to the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. After an hour and a quarter's drive, we'll arrive at our destination ready to begin our comprehensive guided tour.
The cultural, political, and economic centre of the country, Ljubljana is home to enchanting landmarks and intriguing history that we'll delve into on the tour. First of all, we'll explore the old part of the city and get to know its most important monuments, including the Town Hall, the Triple Bridge, Preseren Square, and St. Nicholas Cathedral. Did you know that this baroque-style church was once a Roman basilica?
Another place sure to capture your attention is the famous Dragon Bridge, an emblematic symbol of Ljubljana. As we cross it, we'll tell you the history of this viaduct that crosses the Ljubljanica River and that replaced the old Butchers' Bridge.
We'll continue our tour to Ljubljana Castle. To get there, we'll take the cable car up to the hill on which this medieval fortress is located. We'll then take a guided tour of the castle, built upon the remains of the first settlements of the city, which date back to the Bronze Age.
As well as touring inside the castle, you'll also have an unforgettable panoramic view of Ljubljana from the hilltop - the best place to bid farewell to the Slovenian capital! Finally, we'll take the cable car down again and return to Koper, where we will finish the tour at 3 pm.
