With this ticket to The Royal Mews, you'll have the opportunity to visit the royal stables at Buckingham Palace, which houses an outstanding collection of carriages—an icon of London!
Tour Details
The Royal Mews, the royal stables at Buckingham Palace, are a major equestrian complex that houses the vehicles and carriages used by members of the British Royal Family. The horse-drawn carriages are used for special events such as state visits, royal weddings, the State Opening of Parliament, and other official engagements.
With your ticket to The Royal Mews, you can admire these luxurious royal carriages at your leisure. Undoubtedly, one of the most famous pieces of the collection is the Gold State Coach, a 260-year-old carriage used in events such as the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 and the platinum jubilee of the monarch in 2022.
During your tour of The Royal Mews, you’ll also be able to see the stables where the carriage horses are kept. The Cleveland Bay and Windsor Grey breeds are particularly noteworthy. Please keep in mind that during your visit, the horses may be on duty, training, or enjoying a well-deserved break outside of London, so they may not be visible.
In addition, the ticket to The Royal Mews includes a multimedia audio guide available in 9 languages that will take you on a 45-minute tour of the stables' main areas.
