Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Maceió to begin our day trip to explore Quilombo dos Palmares, one of the biggest and most emblematic quilombos in Brazil.
Founded in the 17th century, this area was a refuge for enslaved people who escaped, and it became a symbol of resistance in the fight for freedom. Get ready to learn about this historical moment!
We'll begin our journey by road and, once we arrive, we'll go on a guided tour of the Sierra da Barriga, a mountain with great cultural significance. We'll learn about the history of the community, their leaders, and their resistance against enslavement.
After this visit, we'll eat at Baobá restaurant, known for its Afro-Indigenous cuisine, using unique ingredients and spices. Its dishes are a total celebration of the region's cultural heritage and include local food such as moqueca, amongst others.
Once we finish lunch, we'll make our way back to Maceió, which will take around 2 hours. Our day trip will come to an end at your hotel after a total of 12 hours.
