Activity Details
At the indictaed time we'll meet at the Casa da Montanha visitor centre, the starting point for our night climb of Mount Pico. Are you ready to experience climbing a volcano in the dark of night?
Once we're all together, the guide will give us some instructions and hand out all the equipment we'll need for the climb. We'll then set off on the climb at a pace that everyone's happy with.
While we'll be climbing under the light of the moon and stars, as we make our way along the route, we'll see the sun beginning to rise. You'll never forget the image of daylight breaking over the ocean from Mount Pico.
We'll continue on our way to the peak, making several stops along the way to enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery from an altitude of more than 2300 metres. Did you know that Mount Pico is the highest point in Portugal?
Once we reach the summit, we'll be able to enjoy the views of the Azores archipelago in full sunlight. Don't forget your camera!
We'll finish the night trek of Mount Pico back at the starting point after between 7 and 9 hours.
