At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Marmaris and begin this day trip to one of the most important cities in Asia Minor during Antiquity. Ready to visit Ephesus? Let's go!
Before we arrive, we'll have a stop to re-energise with breakfast. After eating, we'll make our way to the archaeological site of Ephesus, ruins found along the Ionian coast which have become one of the biggest tourist attractions in Turkey. You'll see why once we get there! As soon as we arrive, we'll begin a comprehensive guided tour of one of the country's best-preserved Greco-Roman cities.
During the visit, we'll walk amongst the ruins of Ephesus, admiring its architectural gems, including the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Adrian, and the Roman Theatre. Did you know that this final landmark has a capacity of 24,000 people? Did you also know that the library was one of the most luxurious bibliographic archives of the Roman Empire in the region? You'll be amazed!
After learning everything there is to know about this UNESCO World Heritage Site, we'll venture over to Selçuk to stop at a restaurant where you can satisfy your appetite with a delicious traditional Turkish lunch. Afterwards, you'll have the option to visit the old House of the Virgin Mary or the Architectural Museum of Ephesus.
Lastly, we'll travel back to Marmaris, where the day trip will come to an end at your hotel after a total of 13 hours.
