Witness the awe-inspiring Andean landscapes of the Aconcagua Provincial Park on this trip from Mendoza and see the rich wilderness between Argentina and Chile!
At the designated time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Mendoza before driving east along the National Route 7 towards the enchanting border area with Chile.
During a pleasant three-hour drive, we will relax on board with some traditional pancakes and a tasty infusion, choosing between mate, coffee, or tea. Along the way, we will pass through the Andean village of Cacheuta and see the Potrerillos Reservoir and the Cordón del Plata mountain range.
The excursion continues, driving through the villages of Uspallata and Horcones until we reach the Puente del Inca, where we hear the legend of this monument. After this, we will head to the Aconcagua Provincial Park Visitors' Center, where we jump out of the vehicle.
We then set off on an easy 2.5-hour trek, which takes us to 10,000 ft above sea level. Along the route, we will encounter beautiful places like the Horcones Lagoon and the Quebrada del Durazno Bridge. At this last point, we will stop for a picnic lunch, which includes Carne Criolla empanadas, fruits, alfajores, various sweets, and wine from Mendoza.
Afterward, we will return on foot to the visitor's center, where we jump back on the bus and head to the hotel in Mendoza, where we arrive around 10 hours after pickup.
When enjoying this experience during winter (June, July, and August), please note that the temperatures are very low and safety is our main priority. For this reason, the hike inside the Aconcagua Provincial Park is subject to weather conditions and the final approval from the park rangers. If entering the park is not allowed, we'll enjoy an alternative trek in the area. Lunch will be adapted to the weather of the day: it can be an outdoor picnic or at a mountain refuge. At all times, the tour will be conducted in accordance with the guidelines issued by the National Gendarmerie and local authorities.
