At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Paestum Train Station, from where we'll hop on a minibus and head to a cheese factory. We'll spend the next few hours discovering the secrets of the most famous dairy products in Campania!
After about a 25-minute journey, we'll arrive at our destination and start our visit to the factory's facilities. Firstly, we'll see the preparation of buffalo mozzarella, a demonstration in which we'll observe the steps in the process of making this delicious dairy product.
Next, we'll head to the buffalo farm, where we'll discover the details of how these animals are cared for—you can even get up close and pet them! In addition, the cheese factory offers the possibility to visit a museum with more than a thousand exhibits that tell the agricultural history of the region.
Lastly, we'll visit the leather workshop, where buffalo hides are processed into various handicraft products. Once the visit is over, we'll participate in a delicious tasting. We'll have the chance to try various dishes made with mozzarella and ricotta, such as crêpes and salad, or a focaccia with tomato and buffalo mozzarella. In addition, we'll taste homemade yoghurt and other dairy products, such as ice cream or a cappuccino—the choice is yours!
After a 3.5-hour experience, we'll return to the starting point in Paestum, where we'll say goodbye.
