Discover a thousand-year-old city and reach the top of one of the world's most dangerous volcanoes on this excursion to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius.
Pompeii & Mount Vesuvius Excursion
After pickup at your hotel in Palinuro, we'll board the bus and travel to Pompeii, one of the most important archaeological sites in Italy.
Once we arrive at our destination, we'll journey back in time to learn all about the history of this beautiful Roman city. Along the way, we'll visit some of the most important places in this archaeological area, such as the Forum, the baths and the Building of Eumachia, a fascinating construction occupied in the past by the wool market and, likely, the headquarters of the fullers' guild.
Next, we'll enter the Basilica, a public building used as a courthouse, and we'll see the Lupanar and the Large Theatre, whose steps exploit the natural slopes of a hill. Did you know that this theater is still used today for theatrical and musical performances? After visiting the domus, the villas and the taverns, we'll leave you some free time to recharge your batteries before we begin the second part of the excursion.
Then, we'll head towards Mount Vesuvius, one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. Here, we'll embark on a hiking route to the top of the volcano, from which we'll take in stunning views of the Gulf of Naples. The vistas will leave you speechless!
At 7:30 pm, the excursion will conclude with our return to your hotel in Palinuro.
