Activity Details
We'll meet at the indicated time at Rua Rafael Pico 5 in Portonovo. From there, we'll head to the pier and board a boat that will take us along the Pontevedra estuary. Ready to enjoy a pleasant cruise?
As soon as we set sail, we'll begin cruising through the calm waters of the estuary while admiring the silhouette of Ons Island on the horizon. During the trip, we'll discover how the Galician coastal landscape blends seafaring tradition, nature, and small fishing villages steeped in history.
We'll sail near Aguete Beach and the Marín Naval Academy, one of Spain's most important naval institutions. We’ll also skirt the island of Tambo, a place steeped in mystery and ancient military legends. We'll continue past towns such as Combarro and Raxó.
In Combarro, we'll admire its famous hórreos by the sea from the boat. Did you know that this town is home to one of the best-preserved examples of traditional Galician architecture in all of Galicia?
During the cruise, we'll also enjoy a tasting of freshly prepared mussels on board, accompanied by wine, water, or soft drinks. While enjoying this star product of Galician cuisine, we'll also get a close look at the traditional mussel rafts. There, we'll learn how mussels are farmed and why the waters of the Rías Baixas are ideal for aquaculture.
After 1.5 hours of cruising along the Pontevedra estuary, we’ll disembark back at the port.
