Are you passionate about nature? On this excursion to the Pozuelos Lagoon, we'll travel to the Puna region to visit an impressive conservation area in the northwest of Argentina.
Tour Highlights
We'll pick you up at your hotel at the indicated time and head north to the Puna region, in the high plateau area of the province of Jujuy.
First, we'll make a brief stop in the small town of Abra Pampa, where we'll visit its famous handicraft market. We'll also see how the artisan work of a cooperative of weavers of the region, who produce high-quality garments, is carried out.
After this stop in Abra Pampa, we'll continue the route to the Pozuelos Lagoon. This spectacular protected area, declared a Natural Monument, serves as a habitat for numerous birds. Especially noteworthy is its large colony of flamingos, most visible between the months of May and September.
We'll take a break next to the lagoon so you can recharge your batteries. Don't forget to bring a picnic! After eating, we'll try to spot other animals of the Pozuelos Lagoon, such as vicuñas, suris, foxes, and chinchillas.
From the lagoon, we'll finally return to your hotel, where we'll arrive between 9 and 11 hours after pickup.
