Our day trip to Lipica and the Škocjan caves will start at 9 am. After picking you up from your hotel in Rijeka, we'll drive northwest for an hour and a half until we reach Lipica.
Arriving in this Slovenian town, we'll head straight for a Lipizzaner horse farm, where you'll discover one of the country's most prized treasures. These famous horses are so famous, in fact, that they even appear on one of Slovenia's coins! As we tour the farm, you'll learn all about the characteristics of these majestic animals used in dressage.
During the visit, you'll be able to visit the stables, pet the horses and access the Lipikum Museum, the perfect way to expand your knowledge about this special breed. Plus, if you'd like, you can even attend a dressage show.
After exploring the Lipica farm, we'll make our way to the Škocjan caves, one of the most important natural phenomena in the country. To find out why, we'll enter these caves formed along the Reka River and see the giant stalactites & stalagmites and lakes formed over the last centuries.
Then, we'll cross the border back into Croatia and take you back to your hotel in Rijeka, arriving around 5 pm.
