Gaze across beautiful Rio de Janeiro from the Christ the Redeemer viewpoint. This breathtaking spot at the summit of Corcovado is perfect for taking panoramic photos of what locals call the ‘carioca’ city.
Visit Christ the Redeemer
In the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and head toward Tijuca National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On the way, we’ll pass by the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. We’ll also drive through neighborhoods where you’ll see landmarks such as the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian, the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí, and Leblon Beach. We’ll also pass by the legendary Maracanã Stadium, which we’ll admire from the outside.
After this panoramic drive, we’ll reach Corcovado in about 20 minutes, traveling through the lush Tijuca Forest. Once at the top of this iconic Rio mountain, we’ll enjoy the spectacular views from the Christ the Redeemer viewpoint. This colossal statue of Jesus Christ with outstretched arms, standing 710 meters above sea level, has become one of Brazil’s most recognizable symbols.
From here, we’ll admire its imposing figure and take in breathtaking views of Rio’s main landmarks: the beaches of Ipanema, Copacabana, and Botafogo, the lagoon, the city skyline, and Sugarloaf Mountain.
The panoramic terraces at the foot of Christ the Redeemer also offer a privileged view of Maracanã Stadium, which hosted the FIFA World Cups of 1950 and 2014. From the summit of Corcovado Mountain, we’ll also enjoy a beautiful view of Guanabara Bay, the setting for the sailing competitions during the 2016 Olympic Games.
With your camera full of photos, we’ll return to your hotel in Rio after 6 hours of touring.
