Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel to take you to one of Rio’s most popular Sunday plans. Ready to visit the Hippie Market of Ipanema?
First, we’ll tell you its curious history. What started as a small gathering of hippie friends selling their crafts eventually grew into one of the most famous markets in Brazil.
During the tour, we’ll wander among the stalls, known locally as barracas, laid out like a large cultural mosaic. Each stall represents a different artist, tradition, or style. Get ready to find a bit of everything, from handmade bikinis and ceramic figurines to decorative pieces and even gemstones.
The market is also a true bargain hunter’s paradise. Most vendors are open to negotiating, so your guide will be there to help you get good prices and point out the most interesting items if you’d like to buy a souvenir.
Along with shopping, we’ll find stalls offering traditional food and drinks. You’ll have the chance to try a local treat, like a delicious caipirinha. Enjoy!
We’ll wrap up the tour by dropping you back at your hotel after a total of 4 hours of activity.
