Discover the beating heart of Rio de Janeiro aboard a jeep. We invite you to experience an authentic immersion in the Rocinha favela, the largest slum in Latin America, and discover the most human, creative, and welcoming side of the city. A full connection with Brazilian culture!
Tour Details
After pickup from your hotel, we'll head into the Rocinha favela on an exciting off-roading vehicle tour. Rocinha began to take shape in the 1930s when migrants settled in the area in search of work, and today it stands as a powerful symbol of resilience, art, and carioca identity.
Throughout the tour, we'll wind through its colorful alleyways and lively hillside streets. We'll come to understand that what makes this place so significant is its geography, wedged in the South Zone between the wealthy neighborhoods of Gávea and São Conrado, and offering some of the most spectacular views in the city.
Along the way, our guide will share real stories and insights into the entrepreneurial spirit and strength of the community. You'll feel the local energy as we interact with Rocinha's talented artisans and artists, whose graffiti captures the beauty of the neighborhood, and watch a capoeira performance by local children and teenagers.
We'll then get out of the vehicle to visit the highest terrace in the community, where a breathtaking panoramic view contrasts with the iconic beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, and Leblon. Perfect for photos!
After 3 hours of cultural immersion, we'll make our way back.
