Tour Options
During the booking process, you can opt for the following options:
Favela Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the corner of Rua Saint Roman, in front of Rua Sá Ferreira. Once we’re all together, we’ll begin this tour of the Pavão-Pavãozinho and Cantagalo neighborhoods, also known as PPG.
At our meeting point, we’ll get on a motorbike to go to the first stop of the visit: the Pedra do Galo viewpoint. This place offers spectacular panoramic views of the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, and Morro Dois Irmãos.
Next, we’ll walk to the Brizolão, which was originally intended in the early 1960s to be a hotel, but today houses a multiservice complex for the community, including a Public Education Center.
After that, we’ll visit the home of a local family, who’ll let us go up to their terrace and enjoy the views while we talk about daily life in the community. We’ll continue our cultural immersion at the Fundação, an open space that serves as a stage for cultural presentations.
We’ll also pass by Campinho do Galo, a sports court where you’ll be able to see graffiti that tells the history of the neighborhood. To finish in the best way possible, we’ll take you to the Saint Roman food area, very close to the meeting point, where there's a wide variety of food stalls.
At this final stop, we’ll say goodbye after 2 hours of the tour.
