Chimborazo volcano Full Day Tour
At 8:00 am we’ll pick you up at your hotel in Riobamba and head towards the Chimborazo volcano.
On the way, we'll will make several stops at points with views of the snow-capped mountain so that you can take plenty of photographs and enjoy the scenery. At around 11:30 am we'll arrive at the first refuge of Chimborazo, which is located at 15748 feet (4800 metres) above sea level.
From this point, we'll start a 0.6-mile walk (1 kilometre) to the Cóndor Cocha lagoon, located at 16732 feet (5100 metres) above sea level. In addition, we'll pass the second refuge of Chimborazo, the Whymper, located at 5000 meters. This hike will take us approximately two and a half hours.
After the visit to Chimborazo, we'll go to the impressive cliff of La Chorrera, which is located at 13123 feet (4000 metres) above sea level. This stretch is sure to work up an appetite, so at 2 pm we'll head to the area of San Juan for a traditional lunch of chicken fillet with rice and salad, barley rice soup or quinoa and seasonal fruit juice.
Finally, after lunch, we'll return to your hotel in Riobamba, where we'll arrive at 4 pm.
