Discover the colossal sandstone mountains of the amazing Talampaya National Park, declared a World Heritage Site, with this fantastic trip from San Juan.
Talampaya National Park Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel in San Juan at 7 am, before heading to the north of the province. We'll follow the picturesque National Route 150, which will take us across the beautiful region of La Rioja and to the famous Talampaya National Park.
As soon as we arrive at this protected natural area, we'll get into an off-road truck and take an exciting tour through the National Park. Then we'll head into the Talampaya canyons and prepare your camera to immortalize its spectacular landscapes!
During the truck tour of Talampaya, we'll see the famous sandstone walls. Along with these giants of red stone, different archaeological and paleontological remains have been found throughout the 20th century. We'll tell you all about the origin of these vestiges as we travel through the plains that stretch between the canyons.
Along this route, we'll also contemplate the surreal geological formations of Talampaya, including the Friar, the Wizard King, the Cathedral, the Chess Board, the Needles, the Manger, and the Castle. All these special shapes have been created by thousands of years of wind and rain, creating truly amazing figures.
After a fun three-and-a-half hours at Talampaya, we'll get back in the car or the minibus and start the return journey. Along the way, we'll stop at a nearby restaurant, where you'll have one hour free to eat.
Finally, we'll return to your hotel in San Juan, where we will arrive at 9 pm.
