Interested in architecture? Explore the historical center of the Chilean capital on foot and admire its main museums and palaces from outside with this free tour of Santiago.

Free Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll begin this free tour of Santiago de Chile at the Plaza de Armas, in front of the Museum of National History. Are you ready to explore the city? Although we won't enter any museums, palaces, or monuments, we'll admire their architecture from outside and learn their history.

After a brief introduction, we'll stroll toward the Palacio de los Tribunales de Justicia de Santiago (Courts of Justice Palace of Santiago) and the Former National Congress Building. After seeing these two majestic buildings from the outside, we'll continue our free tour with the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art and the Palacio de la Moneda (La Moneda Palace), the current headquarters of the President of the Republic of Chile.

We'll continue our walk, arriving at the Larraín Palace, where we'll admire its beautiful Neo-Rococo and Art Nouveau architecture. Then, we'll hop on the metro and head to the Barrio París-Londres. Do you know why this neighborhood has this name? You'll find out! Next, we'll walk along three notable monuments of this district: the Palacio de la Bolsa de Santiago (Santiago Stock Exchange Palace), the Edificio Ariztía, and the San Francisco Church.

Our next stop will be in front of the famous Teatro Municipal de Santiago (Municipal Theatre of Santiago or National Opera of Chile), located very close to the Cerro de Santa Lucía, one of the city's most historic sites. Curious to know why? Afterward, we'll head to Forestal Park to admire the majestic facade of the National Museum of Fine Arts, which stands out due to its eye-catching Art Nouveau style.

Lastly, after this approximately 2.5-hour journey, we'll conclude this free tour of Santiago in Lastarria, one of the most bohemian neighborhoods in the Chilean capital.
