On the day trip to Papudo, we’ll sail across the Pacific on a boat trip around Lobos Island and enjoy a horse ride along Los Lilenes beach. Nature and adventure on the Chilean coast!
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Santiago and set off on this day trip to Chile’s central coast. We’ll leave the hustle and bustle of the capital behind as we embark on a 2-hour journey to Papudo, one of the most charming towns in the Valparaíso region.
During the journey, we’ll pass through valleys, farmland and landscapes typical of the Chilean coast. On the way, we’ll stop for about 30 minutes at a service station so you can have breakfast and use the toilet before continuing the adventure. Shall we carry on?
Upon arrival in Papudo, we’ll head to the jetty to board a boat and set off on a journey of approximately 1 hour and a quarter across the Pacific Ocean towards Lobos Island. This protected islet is renowned for its enormous marine biodiversity and coastal birdlife.
During the trip, we’ll spot colonies of sea lions resting on the rocks, Humboldt penguins, cormorants and pelicans soaring over the cliffs. With a bit of luck, we might also spot dolphins and even chungungos, a curious marine otter native to Chile. Keep your eyes peeled at all times!
Following this experience, we’ll continue with a horse ride along Los Lilenes beach. For around 40 minutes, we’ll ride along paths through hills covered in semi-arid vegetation, ravines and natural viewpoints from which we’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Pacific. Along the way, we’ll see the contrast between the Chilean countryside and the power of the sea crashing against the coast.
To recharge our batteries, we’ll head to Chica de Papudo beach, where you’ll have 1.5 hours of free time to have lunch and relax before setting off on the return journey.
We’ll say our goodbyes and drop you off at your hotel in Santiago after a total of between 10 and 11 hours on the trip.
