Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet in the historic center of Sintra to begin our walking tour of this fairy-tale city and the Quinta da Regaleira.
First, we'll set off on a guided walk through Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll admire some of the city's most stunning landmarks, like the Palace of Sintra, the Castle of the Moors, and its beautiful Romantic architecture, while learning all about the city's fascinating history along the way.
Afterward, we'll head to the Quinta da Regaleira, one of Portugal's most treasured monuments. Commissioned by Augusto Carvalho Monteiro, this 20th-century complex is a magical world of its own, where neo-Manueline and Gothic styles blend in the most impressive way.
Here, we'll explore the spectacular gardens, lakes, fountains, and mysterious tunnels that make this place so special. We'll also visit the palace itself and discover the stories behind its stunning construction. Of course, no tour would be complete without the famous Initiation Wells, also known as the Inverted Towers, one of the most iconic highlights of the complex. Did you know they were once used for Masonic and alchemical rituals? You'll be fascinated!
After approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours, we'll wrap up our tour of Sintra and the Quinta da Regaleira and say our goodbyes.
