Chazuta Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Tarapoto and head south to Chazuta, where we'll take a guided walking tour.
Known as the land of friendship for the locals' welcoming character, most of the people of Chazuta work in pottery or agriculture. The main crops you'll find here are corn, yucca, and cocoa. We hope you like chocolate because a delicious chocolate workshop awaits! Local women will teach us the secrets of how one of the tastiest chocolates in Peru is made. You'll even get to taste some!
Next, we'll head to Shapaja. We'll eat lunch here, which will include a main course and a drink, while admiring views of the Huallaga River. After lunch, we'll visit the Washichay Interpretation Center, a peculiar museum where we'll learn all about the native and ancestral art of Chazuta. Then, we'll stop in the Plaza de Armas, Chazuta's main square and a beautiful spot to wrap the tour up.
Finally, we'll end this 9-hour excursion by dropping you back off at your hotel in Tarapoto.
