Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet nearby the Plaza de España and leave Tetouan behind as we head toward the Rif Mountains. During the journey, which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Moroccan countryside.
Once we arrive in Chefchaouen, we’ll begin a 2-hour guided tour through the maze of narrow streets that have made this town so iconic. Known as the Blue Pearl of Morocco, it’s easy to see why visitors fall in love at first sight.
We’ll stroll through Outa el Hammam Square, the lively heart of the medina, and admire the exterior of the Kasbah of Chefchaouen. You’ll also see the octagonal minaret of the Great Mosque and explore the charming Andalusian and Al-Onsar neighborhoods, where the blue tones seem to glow even more intensely.
Along the way, we’ll stop at some of the most photogenic corners and doorways so you can capture the images that have made Chefchaouen famous around the world. We’ll also visit the Ras El Ma spring, where locals gather near the small water channels that supply the city.
After the guided tour, you’ll have 1 hour and 30 minutes of free time for lunch. This is the perfect opportunity to try traditional Moroccan dishes such as couscous or a flavorful tagine at one of the local restaurants.
In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a little over 2 hours at your leisure. You might browse the handicraft shops, relax at a terrace in Outa el Hammam Square, or take a short walk up to one of the town’s viewpoints for panoramic views over the blue rooftops.
Finally, we’ll return to Tetouan, arriving back after approximately 8 hours in total.
