Tour Options
During the booking process, you can choose between the following options. Both options depart at the designated time from Pier Number 4 of the Terminal Fluvial de Tigre and include an audioguide in English on board, an admission ticket to Isla El Descano, and a 1-hour guided tour of the island's facilities and gardens.
Please read below the details of each option:
Isla El Descanso Day Trip (3 Hours)
Once we're all ready at the starting point, we'll board a boat that will take us to sail through the Paraná Delta until we reach the coast of the Sarmiento River. Let's set sail!
During 30 minutes, you'll be able to admire the rowing clubs, the Costa Park, the Tigre Municipal Museum of Fine Art, and the Sarmiento History Museum. Finally, we'll reach the entrance to Isla El Descanso, where we'll disembark and start a guided tour to discover the charm of its landscapes and the history of its monuments.
We'll pass by its lush gardens of elaborate designs, located among creeks, bridges, and canals. During this walking tour, you'll find various sculptures by renowned Argentinean artists, such as Julio Le Parc, Pablo Reinoso, Bastón Díaz, Carlos Gallardo, Vivianne Duchinni, Pablo Curatella Manes, and José Fioravanti. After finishing the tour, you'll have free time to enjoy the island's pure air until it's time to regroup and start our journey back to Tigre.
Isla El Descanso Day Trip + Lunch (6 Hours)
With this option, we'll follow the same itinerary previously described. The only difference will be that, after finishing the guided tour, we'll head to Open Restaurant on Isla El Descanso to enjoy a three-course menu:
- Starter: to choose between mollejas (sweetbread), burrata, and smoked eggplant
- Main dish: selection of grilled meats served with vegetables, french fries, or baby potatoes au gratin
- Dessert: peaches with Italian meringue, dulce de leche, and cream
This will be accompanied by a bottle of Tumpeter from the La Rural Winery and non-alcoholic beverages.
