Day Trip Details
Ready to discover the attractions of Shirakawago and Kanazawa in just one day? Depending on the option you choose, you can take the bullet train from your point of origin to the Kanazawa Station at your own pace.
Once we're with our guide in Kanazawa, we'll start the day by visiting the charming town of Shirakawago, famous for its traditional gassho-zukuri houses, with steep straw roofs, designed to withstand heavy snowfall. Did you know this town is part of the World Heritage Site list?
Here, you'll also have free time to enjoy lunch and stroll along its serene streets, admiring the ancient architecture, the local craft shops, and the calming atmosphere that makes the town stand still.
The trip will continue back in Kanazawa to visit Kenrokuen, considered one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan. It's a true haven of art and nature! Here, you'll see the ponds that reflect trees and flowers, elegant bridges, stone lanterns, and carefully designed trails. You'll also see how it's beautiful regardless of the season!
Afterward, we'll head to the historic neighborhood of Higashi Chaya. Here, you'll see the classic tea houses, which will transport you to the Edo period and the world of geishas as you walk along its lovely cobbled streets. We'll tell you about the traditional Japanese arts that remain preserved in this neighborhood, where history, culture, and tradition come together perfectly.
Lastly, we'll say our goodbyes at the train station, and it'll be the moment to return to your starting point, where you'll arrive after a total of 8 hours and 15 minutes. Until next time!
