Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Trujillo and begin our tour of Pope Leo XIV with an introduction to this spiritual tour and the significance of the current Pope's visit for the Trujillo community.
Our first stop will be the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Trujillo, the site of the Catholic church in northern Peru. Here, you'll learn about its history, its role in the local religious life, and how this place was prepared to receive Robert Francis Prevost.
We'll continue toward the Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Socorro de Monserrate, one of the most beloved churches by the faithful. We'll admire its architecture as we discover the church's traditions.
The next stop will be the Seminario Mayor San Carlos y San Marcelo, a center where future priests are trained. Here, you'll see how religious vocation and spiritual commitment shape those who serve the community.
Then, we'll stop so you can have lunch on your own at a local restaurant. After lunch, we'll head to the Parroquia Santa Rita de Cascia, dedicated to the patron saint of impossible causes.
Lastly, we'll reach the Convento de San Agustín, a gem from the Colonial period that was key in the evangelism and religious education in Trujillo. Here, we'll end our tour by visiting the room where Pope Leo XIV spent part of his time, a space that reflects the simplicity and spirituality of his daily life.
Finally, we'll return to your hotel and say our goodbyes 7 hours after pickup.
