Enjoy a pleasant cruise on the canals of Utrecht and discover one of the most historic cities in the Netherlands- you'll be mesmerized by the beauty of this city!
Activity Details
We'll start our boat tour of the canals of Utrecht at the quay of Oudegracht Street. From there, we'll set sail at 11 am.
First, we'll sail along the Oudegracht, which not only gives its name to the former street, but also to the so-called old canal of Utrecht. This iconic waterway crosses the old part of the city, so we'll see the profile of St. Martin's Cathedral from the boat. Next to it, we'll see the imposing Dom tower. Did you know that it's the tallest bell tower in the Netherlands? The guide on board will tell you many interesting facts about this landmark.
During the cruise along the Oudegracht Canal, we'll also pass by the old town hall, where the famous Treaty of Utrecht was signed. After revealing the ramifications of this agreement for Europe, we'll pass the Winkel en Sinkel, one of the first shopping centers in the world.
The cruise will then pass by the Stadskasteel Oudaen, a 13th-century castle located in the heart of the historic center of Utrecht. From there, we'll sail along the Nieuwegracht, the city's new canal.
Lastly, at 12 pm, we'll return to the departure dock, ending the tour.
