With your ticket, you’ll walk through the doors of the former Zögernitz Casino, now transformed into the House of Strauss, and journey back to imperial Vienna. This neoclassical building, with its tall windows, gilded details, and ornate façade, once hosted the most glorious nights of the waltz. Did you know that some of the most famous melodies composed by Johann Strauss I and Johann Strauss II, the father-and-son composers, were first performed here?
Your visit begins in the entrance hall, decorated with elegant crystal lamps, parquet floors, and portraits of the Strauss dynasty, quietly guarding their musical legacy. As you move through the rooms, you'll discover exhibitions featuring original instruments, musical scores, and personal belongings that offer an intimate glimpse into the lives of these legendary composers. An English audio guide is included, sharing fascinating stories and anecdotes about the Strauss family.
You’ll then enter the Strauss Hall, the last original concert hall where the Strauss family performed several of their masterpieces. One of the highlights of the visit is taking a seat on the iconic Thonet chairs, with their graceful curves, to enjoy a 15-minute immersive experience.
As the music surrounds you, light projections bring to life 19th-century Viennese ballrooms, theaters, and streets. Can you imagine listening to The Blue Danube in such a setting?
The tour concludes in the gardens of the former casino, a peaceful oasis where artists, musicians, and nobles once strolled. It’s an experience you won’t forget.
