At the designated time, we'll meet at the Capixaba Market to kick off this guided walking tour of the historic center of the capital of the state of Espíritu Santo.
Once in the old town, we'll start walking. Did you know this is one of the oldest cities in Brazil? It was officially founded in 1551 on the picturesque island of Vitória. This insular location was crucial in its development, as it was a strategic position for the defense against pirate attacks and other dominant European nations.
During our guided walking tour, we'll admire Vitória Cathedral, the most renowned landmark that represents the faith and the religious architecture in the capital. Afterward, we'll head to the symbolic Escadaria María Ortíz, known for being the stage of the resistance and feminine courage in Vitória's history. Then, we'll reach the Chapel of Saint Lucy, one of the oldest chapels in the whole state and a true architectural treasure of the Colonial period. Lastly, we'll visit the majestic Anchieta Palace, which is currently the seat of the executive branch of the state of Espírito Santo.
Finally, we'll begin our journey back to the starting point, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 3.5 hours.
