Spend a day discovering the rich culture of Paraguay with this Asunción Museum Tour. You'll learn all about the tradition and history of the country.
At the appointed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel to start touring the most important museums of Asunción. Are you ready to learn all about Paraguayan culture?
We'll get into a vehicle and drive to the first stop of the tour, the Cultural Centre of the City Carlos Colombino Manzana de la Rivera. We'll visit this complex of nine houses that summarizes the architecture from the 18th century onwards. One of the most famous houses is the Casa Viola. Did you know that it currently houses the Museo Memoria de la Ciudad? There you can see texts, maps, objects and paintings.
The tour will continue until we reach the Museo Casa de la Independencia (Independence House Museum). We'll stroll through the rooms of this building, which was used by the protagonists of independence as a secret headquarters for their meetings.
The next stop will be the Centro de Artes Visuales-Museo del Barro (Visual Arts Centre-Museum of Clay). Here we'll see various pieces that express the multi-ethnic art of the country - can you imagine why it is known as the Mud Museum? We'll find out!
Next, we'll move on to the Museum of the Central Railway Station, an institution that keeps within its walls the first train in South America. We'll also find the original plans of locomotives and carriages, as well as photographs and great books specialising in the subject.
As if that wasn't enough, we'll visit the main painting galleries in Asunción, where you'll be able to appreciate and buy the best of Paraguayan art.
After 4 hours of learning about the culture of the country, the tour will end by dropping you off at your hotel.
