Tour Options
During the booking process, you'll be able to choose between the following options. Both take place on Avenida Exequiel Bustillo and include an English-speaking guide as well as the tastings they mention.
These are the details for each of them:
Chocolate Tasting (1 Hour)
Want to try a chunk of the purest chocolate in Patagonia? Get your taste buds at the ready! With this activity, we'll immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of chocolate in a chocolate shop in San Carlos de Bariloche, known for its rich tradition of crafting this age-old delicacy.
We'll make our way to our seats and, after a brief introduction, we'll be served a great variety of bars from Peru, Madagascar, and Ecuador, each of which features a different percentage of cacao. We'll taste dark and semi-dark chocolates to learn to distinguish their nuances on the palate.
Afterwards, we'll offer you some Patagonia truffles with fruits of the forest from Bariloche, rosehip, and lavender flowers. We'll get to know the most intense to the mildest flavours thanks to their blend of ingredients. Which is your favourite?
Before tasting them, we'll tell you the history of this chocolate shop and we'll learn why San Carlos de Bariloche is known as the Argentinian capital of chocolate. Additionally, we'll discuss the origins of all the ingredients used in its elaboration, as well as the Belgian influence over the techniques used.
Lastly, we'll do a tasting of 6 gourmet chocolates with spices, where we'll discover how to decipher the ingredients that make up each chocolate. Get ready to taste cacao combined with flavours as intense as cardamom and pepper!
- Schedule: This option takes place every day at 12:50 pm.
Chocolate Tasting+ Workshop (1.5 Hours)
If you select this tour option, we'll begin with an explanation of the history of chocolate and learn how it reached Patagonia. Additionally, we'll get to know how each ingredient is used in this chocolate shop. Next, we'll taste single-origin cacao, where we'll be able to distinguish each type of bean and its impact on the final flavour of the chocolate.
Afterwards, we'll head into the production room, where we'll get to work. Step by step, we'll learn how to make this treat in a 30-minute workshop. Equipped with all the necessary materials and with the help of expert chocolatiers, we'll prepare a delicious bar of personalised chocolate that you can take home with you. Delicious!
To continue enjoying the experience, we'll then do a blind tasting, where we'll put your senses to the test to identify the different types of chocolate and other ingredients. The winner of each round will take home a prize. Equal parts tasty and fun!
- Schedule: This option takes place every day at 10 am.
