On this horseback ride through La Fragua, we’ll enjoy breakfast and lunch at the San Ramón ranch, surrounded by the beauty of the Patagonian steppe. You'll fall in love with its semi-arid valley!
Activity Details
After meeting at Villegas 222, we’ll set off on a 45-minute drive, leaving Bariloche behind as we head toward the San Ramón ranch. Ready to discover the breathtaking Patagonian steppe?
Here we’ll find the La Fragua area. As soon as we arrive, we’ll kick off the experience with a traditional breakfast featuring seasonal ingredients and a brief technical briefing. We’ll cover the basics, including horse behavior and the characteristics of the terrain.
Next, we’ll set out on a 2-hour horseback ride through a landscape of rolling hills, with gentle slopes, ascents and descents, and small streams. We’ll ride through rock formations and open plains that will leave you amazed.
During the ride, we’ll observe the typical semi-arid flora of the steppe and, with a bit of luck, spot an Andean condor. We’re in one of the region’s main nesting areas, so it won’t be unusual to see them.
After the ride, we’ll return to the ranch to enjoy a traditional Patagonian lunch. We’ll savor a barbecue (asado) accompanied by chorizo and salad, with beverages such as mineral water, soda, and red wine. We’ll finish with dessert, perfect for recharging after the activity.
Finally, you’ll have a short rest before heading back. We’ll say goodbye at the original meeting point after a total of 6 hours.
