How are wines from Occitania made? You'll discover this on our tour of La Provenquière, a family-owned winery in southern France, where you'll also enjoy an exclusive tasting. A must for wine tourism lovers!
Located in the department of Hérault, in southern France, La Provenquière is a winery managed by the Robert-Boularand family since 1954.
Once we're all gathered at the entrance to the winery, we'll take a tour of the vineyards on the La Provenquière estate. As we'll see, the wide variety of soils (gravel, blue marl, and clay-limestone) allows for the cultivation of different types of grapes, resulting in extraordinary varieties of red, white, and rosé wines.
We will also learn how sustainable viticulture is practiced, which has been awarded HVE 3 certification. This distinction certifies the preservation of biodiversity and the quality of the terroir.
We will continue the tour by visiting the chateau grounds, the wine cellar and the barrel room. We will conclude this hour-and-a-half tour in the cellars located in the former stables, where we will enjoy a tasting of up to five wines, which will vary depending on availability. Among the varieties we will taste, there will be some with Protected Geographical Indication, such as the IGP Pays d'Oc or the IGP Coteaux d'Ensérune.
At the end of the tasting, you can explore the castle's gardens and farm at your own pace.
