Explore one of the colorful mountains of Peru with this fantastic hiking tour through Pallay Punchu. You will discover one of the best attractions in the Cusco area.
Trip Description
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Cusco at the designated time to start this trekking route through the new mountain of the Seven Colors.
1 and a half hours into the trip, we'll have our first stop at a restaurant in Collca, where you'll be able to enjoy a tasty breakfast buffet to prepare for our adventure ahead. After re-energising, we'll continue travelling for 2 more hours through the folds of the Laguni Lagoon before arriving at Layo, the perfect spot to take some photos.
After a 15-minute drive from Layo, we'll reach our starting point for this hike to the top of the Pallay Punchu mountain, which can last anywhere between 45 minutes to 2 hours. The name means "poncho of colors" and its striking tones imitate the stripes of this typical Peruvian garment.
During the trekking route, we will enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Pallay Punchu, Pasñawarcuna, Apu Tagllo, and Condorsllana mountains. Once we reach the highest point on this route, known as Condor Sayana, 4,850 metres (almost 16,000 feet) above sea level, we'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Layo and Laguni districts, with its communities spread out around the stunning lagoon and the Tres Cañones mountains of Suykutambo. Get ready to take some amazing photos!
After exploring Pallay Punchu, we'll begin our journey back to Cusco. On the way, we'll stop once again at Collca to enjoy a lunch buffet. We'll then arrive in Cusco after this 14-hour trip and say our goodbyes at Plaza Regocijo.
