On this dolphin watching experience in Galveston, we’ll sail through the city’s historic port while discovering Texas’s maritime heritage. You’ll love it!
Activity Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at Pier 21 and set sail from the port of Galveston. For 45 minutes, we’ll cruise through the waters of the Gulf of Texas.
We’ll reach a strategic point for our mission: spotting bottlenose dolphins. We’ll stop at a safe distance to observe them as they leap out of the water with spins and jumps.
Their constant presence along these shores is due to the abundance of fish, the relatively calm waters, and the warm currents that make this environment an ideal refuge for them. We’ll see how they communicate through clicks and how they synchronize their movements.
During the activity, we’ll also share stories that weave together Galveston’s naval history with pirate legends and key events that shaped the island’s identity.
Finally, we’ll sail back to the coast and say our goodbyes at the starting point.
Dolphin Watching
The Galveston coastline is one of the best places in the Gulf of Texas to spot dolphins. However, these animals are unpredictable. Seeing a greater or smaller number of dolphins will depend on various factors, such as weather conditions or the breeding seasons of the different species.
