On this guided tour, we'll explore the historic center of Ghent, one of Northern Europe's most beautiful and dynamic cities.
This guided walking tour of Ghent begins at the Belfry and lasts two hours.
We'll begin with a visit to the Castle of Gerald the Devil, St. Bavon's Cathedral (famous for the Ghent Altarpiece, the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb), the beautiful Belfry, and the Town Hall building.
During the tour, we'll also visit the oldest monuments in the city: St. Nicholas Church, Masons' Guild Hall (built in the sixteenth century), the small medieval harbor (known as "The Pier of Herbs and Grains"), the Gravensteen Castle of Counts, the picturesque district of Patershol, Friday Market Square and the meat and fish markets.
The tour ends in the center of Ghent.
If you're traveling from Brussels, the best way to get to Ghent is to take the train from the central station at 8.30 am. From here you can take tram number 1 towards Centrum to Kouter Square, the stop is Korte Meer.
