Heidelberg Free Walking Tour

At 2:30 pm we'll meet next to the sculpture of the Heidelberg Bridge Monkey, the city's landmark. From there we'll set off on our free tour of this beautiful German town.

We'll begin the tour at the Charles Theodore Bridge and learn about its fascinating history. Built on the Neckar River, it has an enormous gate that once formed part of the city walls. Then we'll head through the old town of Heidelberg until we reach the Heiliggeistkirche, a beautiful Roman Basilica.

Next, our guided tour will continue to the University of Heidelberg. Did you know it's the oldest university in Germany? We'll admire this magnificent building as we listen to interesting anecdotes about the institution and its students over the years.

We'll also visit the Kornmarkt and admire the Madonna statue that stands in the middle. Lastly, we'll admire the Heidelberg Castle in the distance, a magnificent view to end our two-hour free tour.
